Opening of the Mangalore cancer care clinic in Ashwini Polyclinic.

Mangalore cancer care clinic was inaugrated in Ashwini Polyclinic, Kodialbail, Mangalore by Dr. Guruprasad Bhat this month. Dr. Guruprasad Bhat during the auspiucious occation said that aim of the clinic is to provide quality medical treatment and palliative care for patients suffering from cancer at an affordible price. He has completed his MD in Medicine from Sri Siddhartha Medical College, Tumkur and DM in Medical Oncology from Kidwai Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore. He is currently the Chief Medical Oncologist in Yenepoya, Derlakatte, Mangalore.
Talk on new insights into Gynecological Malignancies

Dr. Guruprasad gave a talk in IMA meet of Kannur on the above topic of New insights into Gynecological malignancies. It was attended by well known physicians of Kannur. Dr. Bhat stressed on the need for early diagnosis of gynecological malignancies which are a very common cause of death among women of the country and also on the methods for optimum diagnosis. He said that many of these cases are missed and are labelled as other common conditions like TB which can significantly delay the diagnosis.

Dr. Guruprasad gave a talk on early diagnosis of Cancer in the IMA meet of Puttur this month. The talk included methods to diagnose common cancers like Breast, Cervix, Lung etc. It was well attended by the doctors of Puttur and had the maximum attendance for any talk in recent times in the town.
